OAKO Warranty Policy

Warranty on OAKO’ Standing Desks and Accessories 

  • Warranty is for manufacturing defects. Scratches, dents, wood movement, or misuse are not manufacturing defects.
  • Inspect your delivery immediately. If something arrived damaged during shipping, you must report it within 24 hours (with photos).
  • 5-day inspection window: visible defects on surfaces and accessory aesthetics must be reported within 5 days.
  • Maximum load: total system load up to 150 kg. Overloading is excluded.
  • Proof of purchase is required. Warranty applies only to the original purchaser (non-transferable).

This warranty is provided by OAKO Denmark and applies in addition to mandatory rights under applicable law. Nothing in this warranty limits statutory consumer rights.

Warranty Structure Update — Effective June 1st, 2025

All purchases made before June 1st, 2025 are covered by a 2-year warranty on all components.

The current warranty structure (10 years frame / 5 years motors & electrical / 2 years surfaces and defined accessories) applies to purchases made on or after June 1st, 2025.


Warranty Coverage Overview


Standing Desk — Frame (10 years)

What we cover

We warrant to the original purchaser that the OAKO height-adjustable steel frame is free from defects in design, material, and workmanship under normal indoor home/office use.

If there is a defect

If the issue falls under warranty, OAKO will assess the case and decide whether repair, replacement parts, or full replacement is required. The chosen remedy is determined by OAKO after assessment.

What is NOT covered

  • Incorrect installation or failure to follow assembly instructions
  • Products modified, drilled, rewired, or repaired by anyone not authorized by OAKO
  • Cosmetic wear: scratches, dents, scuffs, paint marks
  • Overloading beyond the maximum rated capacity (150 kg)
  • Damage during relocation, moving, improper disassembly, or transport after delivery
  • Damage caused by impact, liquids, fire, or external force

Warranty is valid only with proof of purchase and applies only to the original purchaser (not transferable).


Standing Desk — Motors & Electronics (5 years)

This covers motors and electrical components, including the control box, handset, and wiring, when malfunction is caused by manufacturing defects.

What is NOT covered

  • Incorrect power connection, incompatible adapters, or unstable voltage
  • Electrical issues caused by power surges, lightning, or external electrical faults
  • Cable damage caused by pinching, pulling, improper routing, or improper installation
  • Any modifications or repairs by third parties
  • Damage caused during moving/relocation

Solid Oak Surfaces (2 years)

OAKO solid oak is real wood. Real wood is a living material: it reacts to humidity, temperature, and sunlight. Natural movement and visual variation are not defects.

Applies to

  • Solid oak desk surfaces — 2 years
  • Solid oak dining tables (surface & legs) — 2 years
  • Oak benches (surface & legs) — 2 years

What we cover (material & workmanship defects)

  • Structural cracks that compromise the usable surface integrity
  • Clear separation of lamellas/joints on the usable surface due to manufacturing defect
  • Manufacturing defects in construction that affect normal use

5-day inspection window (surfaces):

You must inspect the surface within 5 calendar days of delivery. If a visible defect is not reported within 5 days, the surface is considered accepted.

What is NOT covered (natural wood characteristics)

  • Wood grain variation, knots, mineral streaks
  • Small tone differences and natural color change over time
  • Minor hairline cracks or micro-movement from seasonal changes
  • Minor bending caused by unstable humidity/temperature
  • Scratches from sharp objects or lack of protection

Surface warranty exclusions (use & maintenance)

  • Damage from liquids, humidity extremes, or direct prolonged sunlight
  • Damage caused by chemicals or improper cleaning (alcohol, harsh detergents, solvents)
  • Damage caused by lack of maintenance or improper care
  • Improper installation or third-party modifications

Bending & Load Rules

Solid oak is a natural structural material. To maintain long-term stability, correct use and load distribution are required.

  • Maximum total system load: 150 kg (including monitors, arms, equipment, and accessories).
  • Weight must be evenly distributed across the entire surface.
  • Heavy objects must not remain concentrated in one small area for extended periods.
  • The desk must be used indoors in stable environmental conditions.
  • Avoid extreme humidity, direct prolonged sunlight, or rapid temperature changes.

Bending, warping, or deformation caused by overloading, concentrated weight, environmental instability, or improper usage is not considered a manufacturing defect and is not covered under warranty.


Accessories

Accessories are covered for manufacturing defects for the periods below. Cosmetic imperfections must be reported within 5 days of delivery.

5-day inspection window (accessories):

If the issue is aesthetic (scratches, dents, marks), you must report it within 5 calendar days of delivery. After that, cosmetic issues are considered normal wear or handling.

What is NOT covered (accessories)

  • Wear & tear, cosmetic marks, scratches from use
  • Overloading or misuse
  • Improper installation
  • Modifications or repairs by third parties

Ergonomic Chairs (5 years)

Chairs are covered for defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. This does not cover wear parts, fabric wear, or cosmetic damage from everyday use.


Shipping Damage (report within 24 hours)

If your delivery arrives damaged, you must notify us within 24 hours of delivery with photos. Shipping damage reported late may not be accepted because the carrier claim window is limited.

How to submit a warranty claim

  1. Email: info@oakodenmark.dk
  2. Subject line: WARRANTY CLAIM — Order #XXXXX
  3. Include: your name, order number, delivery address, and clear description of the issue.
  4. Attach photos (wide + close-up). For electrical issues, attach a short video showing the problem.
  5. We assess the claim and confirm whether repair, replacement part, or replacement is required.

Warranty applies only to the original purchaser with proof of purchase and is not transferable.
